Orvis Hydros Fly Reel - II - Matte Olive
The new Orvis Hydros Reel is the result of Orvis' own desire to make something great, that much better. Orvis took a best-selling reel and removed unnecessary material to further reduce the weight while stiffening the narrow spool, which minimizes line stacking. Orvis changed the drag knob to be more ergonomically accessible and comfortable to use. Orvis further refined the seal on the sealed drag to protect the clutch bearing in the drag mechanism.
The Machined Aluminum X-frame (or MAX) by Maxxon Outfitters, is the reel you have been looking for! Made to balance beautifully with lighter modern-day fly rods, this state of the art machined process also makes this reel highly superior to any die-cast process know to science. Fully CNC-Machined with extremely tight tolerances, the MAX is not only slick looking with its skeletonized, lightweight aluminum frame & large arbor spool design, it is also highly functional.
