Daiichi 1530 Heavy Wet Fly Hooks feature a Sproat bend, down-eye, 2X-heavy wire, and a 1X-short shank. In the early days of fly tying and fly-fishing, “wet flies” were king. Dry flies and nymphs are more popular today, but wet flies, which are fished subsurface, are still very successful for catching trout, steelhead, and salmon. Wet flies do not closely imitate natural insects or bait fish, but give the impression of emerging mayflies.
