Great engineering has finally been applied to deep water fishing. Everyone knows the benefits of using downriggers for all species of gamefish. Fish spend more time in deep water than they do splashing the surface. Downriggers are a great investment in better fishing success, but they do have some drawbacks. Chief among these is the darn downrigger weight. They are a lethal nuisance, bouncing around on a boat. They also drift back considerably from the boat while trolling.
